Last Saturday, I went to my first ever #BrunchClub event. I was quite nervous going alone but I’m so glad I did because I had a lovely time meeting other bloggers.
It was held at LOOP in Kingsland. I’ve never been to this restaurant before but the food was great and I had three courses.
Check out my post below if you want to know more.
First of all, the menu had a great selection of meat, seafood and vegetarian options. It was hard choosing a dish for each course.
I chose the Bacon and Eggs for entrée. It has crispy pork belly, squid, chorizo quail eggs, peas and apple. I enjoyed this dish. It is also very pretty. I love crispy pork skin and this delivered. I loved the quail eggs.
For main, I opted for the Crispy Snapper with hazelnuts, white beans and veggies. I chose fish because I thought it would be a lighter option than steak or lamb as I wanted to save room for dessert. This was also quite a good dish but the snapper wasn’t as crispy as I wanted it to be.
For dessert, I had the Chocolate Fondant Tart with salted caramel ice cream, caramelised banana and bee pollen. I loved this. I’m such a dessert person and this was a great end to my three-course meal. The salted caramel ice cream was on point and I want a whole tub of that. The tart crust/base was a bit hard and I had to eat with my hands but the chocolate inside was nice.
Overall, the dessert was fab and I enjoyed all three courses.
Here are some of the food the other bloggers had. Jess from Frecklenz had the Pan Seared Scallops (left) which to me was the prettiest entrée. The middle one is Megan’s from She Said Yes and it is the Pan Fried Eye Fillet. The one on the right is the Oil Poached Lamb Rump which Bri from the-market blog had.
I think everyone was satisfied with our dishes. They were well presented and tasted great.
What I also liked about Loop was the decor. I love the styling inside.
The entrance has a table full of succulents and there were cool art pieces on the walls. It was nice and bright too.
We were quite a large group so I didn’t get to talk to everyone but hopefully I will in the next #BrunchClub. It is nice to be a part of a creative and supportive group of people. We blog about different things but we can come together, share ideas and tips and enjoy some wonderful food.
If I didn’t go to this, I wouldn’t have met and talked to other bloggers such as:
- Chloe, the other half of Frecklenz
- Genie of Bunny Eats Design
- Lena of Lena Talks Beauty
- Rebecca of Becca Jane Lee
- Natasha of Sweet Mama M
- Pia of Pia Does Fashion
- Chelsea of Chelsealora (who I didn’t get to talk to on the day but we did on Twitter and I encouraged her to come so we can both be newbies together) 🙂
Please check them all out because they have awesome blogs too! There were so much more that I didn’t get to talk to but there’s always next time.
Thanks to Madeleine of Madicattt, Lizzy of My Foxy Corner and Laura of Laura Laura Blog for setting up #BrunchClub and organising the events. I look forward to attending more in the future!
