A week ago, the lovely Katey from What Katey Thinks left a comment on my OOTD: Stockings & Tights post saying that she nominated my blog for the Fashionista Award that’s been circulating here on WordPress. I’m extremely flattered she has included me. I haven’t been nominated for anything on my blog before so this is pretty exciting.

1. What motivated you to start blogging?

I could write an essay about this I’m going to keep it short. I’ve been blogging on Tumblr for 5 years. I needed a change as I’ve lost interest on there and I wanted a new creative outlet that I’m proud to share to everyone I know. A Style Collector was then born.

I love taking photographs and putting them together for a post. What motivated me the most to start A Style Collector was I wanted to share the stuff I love to a bigger audience. I didn’t want my blog to be in private any more and to be lost in the weird world of Tumblr. I itched for change and I’m glad I made the move!

2) Favourite movies?

I’m not a big movie-goer and I have trouble remembering what movies are about but the ones I can think of right now are: How to Date a Guy in 10 days and Mean Girls.

3) What is you’re dream career?

I’m not entirely sure. My full-time job is completely different to my blog and not that creative either. I wouldn’t say it’s my dream career but I’m lucky it is in line with what I studied in University for.

If I’d really have to pick, somewhere in the lines of a fashion stylist/buyer or as I’ve joked a few times a professional op shopper/thrifter, if that is even an actual profession! Haha. I love op shopping/thrifting way too much and I would love to be able to do it all the time as a job. That will be perfect. I don’t know how that will work though…

4) Top wish list items at the moment?

• A nice winter coat
• the perfect flattering pair of flat boots
• This Karen Walker Mini Andie Small Duffle bag but in all black and leather not canvas
• Not fashion related but I have been wanting a Philippe Stark Ghost Chair for years. I’m down for replicas but can’t find any that my budget will agree with.

5) Favourite television shows?

I don’t watch TV much any more except for Criminal Minds every Monday but I loved Revenge and I used to love Arrow. I plan on getting Netflix soon so this will change.

6) What store do you find yourself shopping in the most?

Recycle Boutique in the city. I could easily go after work and I always end up getting something from there.

7) Favourite fashion designers?

For New Zealand, I love Karen Walker and Twenty Seven Names.
More well-known: Chanel and Saint Laurent/YSL

8) Describe you’re dream vacation?

Europe. I want to go to Scandinavian countries, visit different Greek islands like Mykonos, eat gelato in Italy, wander around the Louvre in France etc.

9) What are the goals for you’re blog?

Right now, it is to transition into having a proper domain name. If only I have more knowledge on the technical side of blogging but hopefully soon my blog should be a .com only. Then just grow my blog and readership or collaborate with other bloggers in the future. I love blogging and I will continue to do so as long as it’s fun for me.

10) If you had the opportunity to interview a celebrity, who would it be?

The two Emmas: Emma Watson or Emma Stone.
