I tend to shy away from big coffee establishments but I like Gloria Jean’s Coffees. I think it has a lot to do with how nice the Gloria Jean’s cafe is in Lorne Street.
My sister and I love going here to have coffee, catch up and chat. The interior design of this place is great and I want the furniture.
The inside is nice and neat. I love the black frames for the menu.
The lighting in this place is also on point. I want these and they look great in the space.
Towards the end of the cafe is another space which is connected to the other part of the building. It has more relaxed furniture and has these gothic chandeliers.
My favourite part of this cafe are these ghost chairs though. I seriously want one in my house. I’ve always wanted a Philippe Starck ghost chair but these are better with the houndstooth cushion.
This was taken a while ago when I used to have my hair straight. This chair is like a throne. I love it.
Here’s my sister. We like this little spot.
Their coffees aren’t bad in my opinion. I’m not a coffee aficionado anyway and I can’t handle strong coffees but to me, they’re pretty good. I usually order a mocha (either the Mocha Truffle or Mocha Caramel Latte) and Choc Macadamia Latte.
We have tried one of their sandwiches as well but not other food items on their menu.
If you’re after a nice place to meet with someone in the city, try Gloria Jean’s in Lorne Street. I know there are a lot of cafes in town but if my sister and I are stuck on where to go or where to meet up, this is our go-to place.
It’s beautiful inside, the coffee is good and the service is great.

This looks so nice! My experience of Gloria Jeans has generally been pretty sub-par but that looks like somewhere I’d actually want to go.

The decor drew us in. I haven’t been to other Gloria Jeans except for this and the smaller one in High St and they’re both designed well and service was good at both. The Lorne St one gets really busy with uni students though.
