I don’t know about you but I like watching product empties videos on Youtube as well as reading about them on blogs. It’s basically going through someone’s trash but I like knowing what my trusted beauty vloggers/bloggers have used up.
I’ve been collecting my empty products for a few months so I thought I’d show what I have so far.
If you’re interested to know the products I’ve used up and if I recommend them, continue below.
Let’s start of with my makeup empties.
e.l.f. cosmetics Mineral Face Primer
This is a silicone-based primer. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either. I was surprised when I unscrewed the pump that the actual size of the product is tiny compared to the bottle. The size of where the product is stores is the size of half of my pinky. There really is no need for the massive bottle. I will not repurchase this again.
W7 The Fixer makeup setting spray
I got this from a makeup sale for around $6, I didn’t have high hopes for this but I actually liked it. I thought it made my makeup last longer throughout the day. I also love the small size which was great for travelling. I took this to Melbourne with me and along with my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, my face lasted really well considering I was out and about for more than 12+ hours without retouching.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
I don’t know if there’s an actual term for what has happened to my Stay Matte powder but after a while, a layer would form at the top which means I can’t get any product out of it. The layer hardens which you can see with the darker brown shapes on the powder and basically it’s useless after that. I used to love it but it’s a bit of a waste when I couldn’t use it any more. I’ve found better face powders so I won’t be buying this.
L’Oreal Secret Studio Blush/Bronzer Duo
This is quite old so it’s about time I chuck it in the bin. The blush side used to be my every day blush because it was quite natural. I got it from a makeup sale and I’d consider getting it again but I have so many blushes now.
Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation
I haven’t touched this in a long time and when I realised I had a backup, I knew I had to get rid of this.
Maybelline Pure BB Cream
This was a great BB cream for my oily and acne-prone skin. However, the shade light is the wrong shade for me. It’s too pink-toned so I had to mix it with another BB cream which was a hassle.
I had three mascaras I’ve used up or have dried out.
L.A. Girl Super Mega Mascara
This was cheap and I got attracted to the packaging. I actually liked it because it was good at lengthening my lashes and wasn’t bad at keeping the curls too.
Benefit Mascaras
I have a few backups of the Benefit They’re Real mascaras and I finally finished another of the sample size. The unnamed plain mascara is actually the Benefit Rollerlash. It was sent to me by Smith & Caugheys to trial and I fell in love with it. It’s better than the They’re Real and much easier to take off.
Now onto the haircare empties! I have a lot.
I’ve talked about the Batiste Dry Shampoo, Urban Sea Salt Spray and Daiso Makeup Brush cleaner already so I won’t delve into those any more. I love these three and will keep repurchasing them.
I got these HASK shampoo and conditioner as a gift from my mum. You can get them from Farmers. I really loved these and I would repurchase them if they are on sale. They’re not that cheap but they made my hair super soft and nice. It’s just that I hate spending so much on shampoo and conditioner.
The Argan Oil hair mask is thick and smells lovely. It made my hair amazingly soft afterwards and I loved using it. I’m currently using a different brand but it isn’t as good as this.
Then for skincare, I have used up a lot of face oils.
Acure Moroccan Argan Oil
I got this from iHerb and it was quite inexpensive for a face oil. It was dubbed as “liquid gold”. I thought it was good at hydrating my skin. However, I didn’t the smell and it didn’t get absorbed as quickly as the other two face oils.
Life Flo Health Pure Rosehip Seed Oil
This was the first face oil I’ve ever tried. It absorbs easily into the skin and it didn’t leave me with that greasy feeling. I also didn’t mind the smell. For less than $6, this was pretty good in my opinion.
Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+
I’m already on my bigger bottle of this. Although this is pricier, I prefer it over the Life Flo Health one. It also doesn’t leave my face greasy at night and I think it helps with my acne scarring. This doesn’t have a strong scent compared to the other two.
Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream
I got this mini eye cream from the Benefit Advent Calendar. I used it all up because I didn’t want to waste it but I honestly didn’t see a difference. I find it hard to tell if eye creams work on me. This wasn’t an exception to that. It smells nice though but for $64 full priced, I won’t be buying this again.
Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus
This was another sample from the Clinique Bonus. I didn’t use this as regularly as I should to see any results but I’ve had it for a while now so I need to get rid of it. It’s also for wrinkles which I thankfully don’t have at the moment so even if I used it all up, I wouldn’t know if it worked yet.
We’re down to the last two products.
I’ve talked about the Vaseline Lip Therapy here already. I love it and have backups.
The Body Shop almond hand cream has been a favourite. I loved it and I tried to squeeze as much as I could. I’m trying different hand creams right now but I think this is the best I’ve tried without being too expensive. I also love the smell of it and it doesn’t make my hands oily. I might repurchase this one day when I’m out of my other hand creams.
I apologise that this post is incredibly long. Next time I’ll do my beauty product empties for a shorter period so I won’t accumulate as much. I hope you find this useful in some way though if you’re thinking of trying some of these products.
What products have you used up and will continue to repurchase? Let me know below.
I hope you have a great week ahead.

I’m allergic to They’r Real! from Benefit Cosmetics and it makes me so sad because everyone raves about it 😦

I hope one day soon I can do a empties post, but at the moment I’m nowhere near that stage. I have to agree, the body shop hand cream is amazing. I have only tried the hemp one, and I’m not a huge fan on the smell but i will be picking up the almond one next time.

I’d love to see your empties post. I love seeing other people’s one for some reason. I didn’t mind the smell of the hemp one. I disliked the scent of the rose more but the almond hand cream is the best out of the three for sure.

I love watching/reading empty post too! I think it says a lot about a product if you finish it. I have had that hardening problem before (that you had with the Stay Matte powder) if I have gotten a product wet. I haven’t had this issue with that particular product but others! Thank you for sharing these! xx

Exactly! You must either really love the product or didn’t want to waste it which is some of mine are. The hardening on top of the stay matte powder has put me off. No other powders I’ve tried has done the same thing so I won’t bother buying it again. I’m loving the Australis powder at the moment.
Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Oooh, I’ve been meaning to try out face oils, but I’m a little scared. I might give the Trilogy one a go though. Glad to hear you liked it!

I was skeptical about face oils at the start because I already have oily/problematic skin but so I’ve ditched my night creams for face oils. I really like it. I definitely recommend the Trilogy one.

I’m a lover of Rosehip Oil too and I go between the Trilogy and Essano ones depending on where I am when I need it. It’s on my must have list now and I’ve found it so helpful on my surgery scars and on my skin generally since I’ve been shrinking!

I haven’t tried the Essano ones but I love the Trilogy rosehip oil. I think my skincare routine will always have it. I have plenty of acne scars on my temples and I think it has helped fade them away too.

I’ve been wondering about that Maybelline BB cream so it’s good to read about it! I don’t really want anything too pink toned so might give it a miss. I also love that Daiso makeup brush cleaner and the Batiste Dry Shampoo (I’ve just written a post on it actually lol). I love your logo p.s.!!!

I had high hopes for that BB cream but the colour selection is so poor. I think there is a lighter shade but I’m not sure if it’s also pink-toned. I’ve switched over to CC creams now and my favourite is still the Essence CC cream but I’m wondering how good their BB cream is too. Ooh I’ll have a look at your post about Batiste. Some people don’t like it but it hasn’t given me any problems.
Thank you! 😀

I’ve heard really good things about that Almond hand cream actually! At the moment I have a mango one from the body shop that I love, but it’s getting low.

Ooh I’ve never tried the mango one but I’ve tried this almond, hemp and Rose hand creams. I didn’t mind the hemp one but hated the Rose scent.

It’s amazing. I just finished one bottle last week but I already have two backups of it. I can’t live without one.
