September Favourites

The last time I did a monthly favourites post was in June. I skipped July and August because I was still using the same products and there weren’t enough new things to feature as my favourites. Since going to Melbourne, I’ve gotten a few things and I’ve had enough time trying them so I have new favourite beauty products to show you.

If you want to know more of what I’ve been loving so far, click below.

Let’s start with the base…

september favourites makeup cosmetics haul beauty australis primerThis Australis Blemish Buster Primer was a purchase from my Melbourne trip and I have been using it ever since. I really love the smooth texture of this. It’s doesn’t have that silicone feel compared to my other primers but it still smoothens out the skin. It is has a light green tinge and I’ve been enjoying using this every day. I have been breaking out a bit and I’d like to think this helps prevent my breakouts from getting worse.

september favourites makeup cosmetics haul beauty mac strobe creamI have been wanting a MAC Strobe Cream in ages and I finally got one at duty free because it was a bit cheaper. I was hesitant to pay that much but I now understand why people love this product. I was confused at first as I didn’t know how to use it but after playing around, I found a method that works. I apply this before foundation and it gives such a nice glow to the skin without me looking like a disco ball. I used this when I did my makeup and this selfie turned out great! Haha

september favourites makeup cosmetics haul beauty maybelline foundationI have been using the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless foundation since getting it from a makeup sale and I have been loving it. This has good coverage and works well on my oily skin. It doesn’t last as long for a whole day (10+ hours) but is good enough when I’m out and about on weekends or for the night. The finish isn’t that matte either. I find the Rimmel Stay Matte to be more matte than this but I like the finish of this Maybelline foundation better.

september favourites makeup cosmetics haul beauty australis powderI got this the same time as the primer. This Australis Fresh & Flawless Powder is my current favourite. I have been using every day to set my BB or CC cream during work days and foundation on weekends. This works really well on my skin and it lasts quite a while.

september favourites makeup cosmetics haul beauty elf eyebrow kitFor the eyebrows, I have gone back to this e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit. I’ve found the ABH brow pomade too dark and harsh on my eyebrows at the moment and the darker wax shade in this kit matches my brows really well. I do use the powder but only a tiny bit. As you can see I’ve hit the pan on the darker one.

september favourites makeup cosmetics haul beauty loreal brow stylist plumperAnother eyebrow product is this L’oreal Brow Stylist Plumper. This was also from this makeup sale haul and I’ve been using this almost every time I do my makeup as well. This has become one of my can’t live without products because if I don’t have time to shape my brows using an eyebrow kit, I just brush my brows using this and I’m ready to go. This is my every day choice for work.

september favourites makeup cosmetics haul beauty sea salt spray opiMy last two are the OPI Nail Envy nail strengthener and the Toni & Guy Sea Salt Spray. These two are both from my NZ Fashion Week goodie bag.

I have a bad habit of peeling nail polish off my nails when I want to take them off. I usually can’t be bothered using a nail polish remover so I take an easy way out. However, this leaves my nails cracked and thin so I’ve started using the nail strengthener and I could see a difference. I love how it dries to clear and shiny so my bare nails look like I have a top coat on.

As for the sea salt spray, I’ve only tried the Urban brand. This Toni & Guy spray is definitely better and it smells great too. I’m glad I have a few bottles of this!

I’ve also included the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry in my first photo above but I realised I’ve already featured it in my June favourites. I’m still loving it and reaching for it more than my other lip products. Besides that, I’ve also been liking my only Essence lipstick in 07 Natural Beauty. I’ve been just into simple natural looking lips recently although I have a lot of brighter shades.

That is all for my monthly favourites. It was great trying new products since coming back from Melbourne. I have yet to post my haul from that but you got a sneak preview of some of the Australis makeup I got.

Let me know below if you’ve tried any of the products I’ve mentioned above or what you’ve been loving the most this past month.

Love reading ‘Favourites’ posts! have heard such good things about M.A.C’s strobing cream, you should do a strobing tutorial! I would have no idea what to do with it, to be honest

I’ve been waiting for somebody (I trust enough) to review the Toni & Guy Sea Salt Spray, now I’m definitely going to purchase! I’m so bored with my straight and limp hair so hope this works on mine. I LOVE the Revlon matte lip balms as well! I got 3 shades when Unichem had the 3 for 2 deal, haha. I just realised that I’m using them more lately instead of my MAC and NARS lippies. ❤
