A few months ago, I received a few things from Fashionlife and this dress was one of them. I really liked this dress and I think it’s great for this summer.
I know it has longer sleeves but if you continue on, you’d find out why I think this is appropriate for this warm weather.
First of all, this navy dress is called the Orlando Cara Dress.
It is a v-neck, 3/4 sleeve dress with drawstring on the waist. The material is really light and soft but it doesn’t cling to your body too much. The drawstring waist is ideal too because it’s stretchy. I can a big lunch and I won’t feel too restricted!
The sleeves may not be ideal for summer, however the back definitely is.
This dress has a surprise open back and if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know I have a thing for backless/open back dresses.
The white heels I’m wearing here is from Kmart which has been a favourite this season too.
What I liked most about this dress is the simplicity and the fabric. The plain navy colour is classic and easy to pair with other items and this dress could be dressed up or down too. For casual days, I’d just pair this with sandals and I’d be good to go. It’s nice and airy and basically a no-fuss dress for me.
By the way, I’m sorry for the photos of this outfit post. I didn’t realise the lighting was off when I took these photos. The sun was glaring at that time which affected how these photos turned out.
I had a bit of a fake tan fail on my legs too. I should not forget that I put fake tan on and wear ankle socks to bed. Haha.
The hat is also from Kmart but I bought it over a year ago so I’m not sure if they will still have it. These sunglasses are one of my most worn and you could see it featured in my sunglasses collection.
As for the necklace, I think it was from Equip a few months ago. My lipstick is Maybelline Colorsensational in 530 Fatal Red. I got it from the September Beauty Box.
I just checked the Fashionlife wesbite too and it’s currently on sale.
It’s down to $49 from $89 so it’s a pretty good deal.
If you’re looking for new clothing, pay their site a visit. They have a great sale section. I just browsed the site again and this Grazia dress, Karen Walker skirt and Angeline dress are all great steals for me.
I hope you’re not melting in this heat if you live in NZ. It has been so hot the past few days and it’s making me miss the colder weather.
