Makeup & Skincare Empties

I’ve accumulated quite a lot of products since my last empties post so it’s time to share an updated one with you all. I realised I have way too much empty products so this one is just my makeup and skincare empties. I’ll share the haircare and body care products in a separate post.

I’ll start off with makeup.

mac studio fix elf pressed powder

I have two powders that I really need to throw out.

I’ve hit pan on both my MAC Studio Fix powder and e.l.f. Pressed Powder. There is still product left on my MAC Studio Fix but the top layer has dried up and it’s no good any more.

bourjois healthy mix serum foundation rimmel wake me up concealer

These two products were my every day makeup for work which is why I’ve used them both up. I love the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation. It’s so lightweight yet has decent coverage. If I didn’t have a lot of foundations open, I would buy another one.

The Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer has been a favourite of mine too. The Wake Me Up foundation didn’t work for me but I loved this concealer for under my eyes. It lasted quite well throughout the day and was good at brightening my under eye area.

eyeliners makeup beauty empties

I don’t wear liquid eyeliner on an every day basis but when I sorted my makeup drawer, I found a lot of liquid eyeliners and these three I’ve had for way too long. I can’t remember last time I’ve used them too.

I got the e.l.f., Maybelline and VIVO liquid eyeliner. I don’t use this type of eyeliner any more and prefer the ZA liquid eyeliner in pen form.

lush mint julips lip scrub

I didn’t use this Lush Mint Julips lip scrub all up but it is way over it’s best before date. It didn’t smell minty any more either so to the bin it goes. I really like this lip scrub but I don’t like how I have to dip my finger every time. I much prefer the e.l.f. lip scrub because it’s in a lipstick form.

daiso brush cleaner real techniques sponge

If you’ve read my previous beauty empties posts, you would’ve seen the Daiso puff and sponge cleaner. I go through it so quickly but it’s the best brush and sponge cleaner for me because it really gets rid of makeup residue.

Unfortunately, even the Daiso cleaner could not save my Real Techniques makeup sponge any more. It was time to retire the sponge because it wasn’t doing it’s job properly and it looked horrible after a few months of use.

Moving on to my skincare, I have few bits and bobs.

skincare clinique olay face brush manuka doctor beauty empties

I’ve been having bad breakouts the past few months so it’s probably not the best for me but I’ve been trying a few products to see which one would work.

skincare clinique liquid facial soap manuka doctor cleanser beauty empties

The Manuka Doctor Foaming Facial Cleanser was one of my skincare purchases a while back hoping it would make my skin get better but after using it all up, I don’t think it did much for my skin.

The Clinique liquid facial soap is something I’ve had for a while because it was such a large bottle and I’ve finally used it up. Last year, I bought the Clinique 3-step system which cleared up my skin but eventually, I think I got used to it and it stopped working. I still like this cleanser though because it cleanses the skin really well and almost to a squeaky clean feeling.

beauty empties skincare formula 10.0.6 mud mask

I got this Formula 10.0.6 No Time To Shine oil-absorbing mud mask from Farmers along with two of the brand’s other masks. I think they were having a buy 3 for a price of 2 deal. I only have this left because my sister got the others. I have oily skin and she has dry skin so this being ‘oil-absorbing’ was the one I kept. I didn’t think this did anything for my skin though and every time I used it, my face would have a stinging sensation so it wasn’t too enjoyable.

olay face brush

Lastly, I have the Olay Regenerist cleansing brush. I got this over a year ago and it surprisingly lasted a long time without me having to change the battery. You can buy spare brush heads which is what I did and changed it every couple of months. This finally died because I dropped it in the shower.

I really loved this face brush because it was affordable, you can use it in the shower and the brush heads actually rotate which I like better than just a vibrating one. I feel like it cleansed my skin more than if it didn’t rotate. I wanted to repurchase this again but I couldn’t find it in stores. I eventually found a different cleansing brush which I’m currently using now.

That’s all for my makeup and skincare product empties. As I mentioned at the start, I also have some hair care and body care products which I’ll share on a different post.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products I’ve mentioned above.
