A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by REVIEW which is an Australian clothing brand to feature an outfit here on my blog. I didn’t know about the brand before that but when I searched their website and through the lookbooks, I genuinely liked the clothing.
I like to think my general style is girly and classic and the clothing at REVIEW fitted that. I love florals, stripes and lace which the brand has throughout their collections. I’ve also been re-watching Gossip Girl and the style of REVIEW is very Blair Waldorf. I chose two pieces from the current collection to share with you today. See the full outfit details below.
The colours of both the top and skirt work so well together because the base colour of the skirt is also navy and the pinky coral neckline of the jumper matches well with the skirt.
I added a hat to this outfit as I felt more like Blair Waldorf with a headpiece. It’s girly and I think Blair would approve this ensemble.
The Megan Jumper is in navy blue with coral pink crew neck detail. The fabric is soft and comfy. It is a cable knit sweater that is tight-fitting but it is stretchy so I didn’t feel sucked in. I got a size 8 and the sleeves were slightly too long but I just folded it over.
The Flora Garden Skirt is an A-line pleated skirt. Florals aren’t just for spring/summer and could be worn all year round. I think this skirt is good for winter because of the darker colours. I also got it in a size 8 which sits between my waist and hips.
The fabric of the skirt is not too thick but also not too thin that it could blow up when it’s windy outside. I feel like it has some weight to it and there is also a lining inside the skirt too.
It also comes with this skinny navy belt which was good at keeping the skirt on my waist. The only thing I wish the skirt has is pockets. Every skirt is better with pockets but besides that, I like the print, the pleated detail and belt.
As the print of the skirt has a lot of colour, I opted to have neutral accessories. I think the hat and wedges worked well and it let the clothing stand out.
My shoes are these Topshop wood-heel wedges I’ve had for a couple of years. I took the small ankle straps off as it elongates the legs more.
My hat is from Cotton On and I have my Karen Walker sunglasses too.
I kept my jewellery minimal with just two rings. The key ring on the left is a knuckle ring and the vintage turquoise ring on the right was a thrift find. My nails matched well with the skirt too and it’s Essie’s Bump Up the Pumps nail polish.
Here’s a back view of the outfit. The print of the skirt is the same all throughout and the coral pink neckline also continues on the back of the jumper.
For a more wintery outfit, I think this skirt would also look good paired with tights and heeled ankle boots and topped with a biker jacket for a more edgy casual look.
The Megan Jumper is $139.99NZ and the Flora Garden Skirt is $179.99NZ. You can get REVIEW clothing online on their website or by going to their St Lukes Mall store here in Auckland. I believe they only currently have 1 store here in New Zealand but there may be more in the future.
