beauty vault haul makeup

Beauty Vault Goodies

Last month, Beauty Review opened their Beauty Vault which has a selection of beauty products available to ‘purchase’ using our beauty points. Since I’ve accumulated a lot of points, I decided to use some of them. Today I’m sharing what I’ve spent my points on and a brief review on the ones I’ve used so far.

I only got four things because some of the products I wanted in the vault sold out so quickly. These are the four items I managed to get my hands on:

maybelline superstay better skin foundation

I got the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation in 030 Sand. I have the SuperStay 24 foundation which I love so I thought I’d give this one a try to see what it’s like. I also really like this and I’ve been wearing it every day for work. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and it lasts pretty well with a good medium coverage.

This also has SPF20 which is a nice bonus for foundation.

This retails for $33.99NZ.

sugar scrub cacao

I also picked up this AIO Sugar Scrub in cacao. This smells so good and is perfectly packed in the tin. It smells like dessert. I’m trying to finish another scrub but after that, I will be using this.

This is $19NZ.

nature's identity eye-full power

For skincare, I chose this Nature’s Identity Eye-Full Power anti0ageing eye serum. Even though I don’t see fine lines or wrinkles, I thought I better start to prevent this.

This retails for $55. Eye creams/serums are usually pretty expensive so to get this using my points is great. I’ve been using this at night and although I haven’t seen a noticeable change, I will keep using it until it’s finished.

One thing about this I wish could be changed is the pump. A full pump dispenses too much of the serum so I have to just lightly push it.

nyx cosmetics butter gloss

The last item I got was the NYX Butter Gloss 2-Pack which has cherry cheesecake and vanilla cream pie.

I’ve never tried the NYX Butter Glosses before so I was excited to try them. The 2-pack apparently retails for $23NZ.

nyx cosmetics cherry cheesecake butter gloss

This orange shade is the NYX Butter Gloss in Cherry Cheesecake.

Because this it is a gloss, it’s not highly pigmented but it does give your lips colour. I was scared seeing the orange shade in the tube but it didn’t look as bright on my lips and it’s actually wearable. The swatches above are without any other lip colour.

nyx cosmetics vanilla cream pie butter gloss

The other shade of the NYX Butter Gloss is Vanilla Cream Pie. It looks like a dusty pink on the tube.

On the lips, it appears a bit lighter and I honestly don’t like this shade on me. On bare lips, it is unflattering on me as light shades don’t suit me at all. I think this may be ok on top of another darker lip colour but by itself, this is not a shade I’d wear at all.

Between the two butter glosses, I’d choose cherry cheesecake more. However, I don’t think I’d reach for these glosses as much because I prefer lipsticks. I thought these NYX Butter Glosses would change my mind about lip glosses but they haven’t. Thankfully these aren’t stick at all so I don’t completely dislike them.

beauty review vault haul

Here’s my full haul from the Beauty Vault. I’m really happy I got the foundation and eye serum but I have yet to try the scrub. I could’ve gone without the glosses too but I now know they’re not for me.

I don’t regret any of these though because I basically got them for free. I used my beauty points which I’ve accumulated by writing reviews on Beauty Review, leaving comments and participating on different threads.

The only thing you have to pay for if you get items in the beauty vault is shipping. Shipping was $14.50. It works out to be roughly $3.62 for each item. The total value of all four is $130.99 so I saved $116.49 all together. That’s a pretty good deal for me considering I really like the foundation alone.

If you’ve tried any of the products above, let me know what you think about them down below.

I’m not really a fan of glosses anymore, but the NYX Butter Glosses were definitely a favourite of mine at the time. Love that they smell like vanilla 🙂 The scrub also looks exquisite!
