I almost forgot to post about this haul so I apologise if it’s quite late! As they say, it’s better late than never, right? Anyway, I got this beauty haul back in June when I saw a random event in Facebook for the mid-year clearance sale at Hypermarket.
I’ve never been to Hypermarket but it’s a store in Wairau Park in the North Shore that sells beauty products. I didn’t know what to expect but I was blown away by their stock and amazing deals.
They had a lot of NZ and Asian skincare products and I couldn’t resist picking a few up.
The first thing I saw was the Oasis Beauty Rhino Repair. I’ve heard great things about this cream and I’ve been wanting to try it for the longest time. This was on sale for around $20 so I had to get it.
I bought it because I get this random rash/follicle irritation around my neck and I wanted to see if this would make it feel better. I’ve been using it ever since and I really like this. It definitely soothes itchy skin and it’s moisturising. I now understand the hype around this product because it works.
I was drawn by this pretty box LA’BONIC Organic Skin Savers set. For $26, it was so inexpensive for what it is and all the products are made in NZ.
The set has three skincare products: the Organic Makeup Dissolving Foam Cleanser, Liquid Gold Regenerating Rose Mist and Pure Rose Repair Cream. I really like the foam cleanser and the liquid gold rose mist. The foam cleanser is great at taking my makeup off at the end of the day and it made my skin feels squeaky clean. The mist was also nice and refreshing. The liquid gold makes me feel fancy when I put it on and even though I don’t usually like rose scents, I didn’t mind it on the mist. As for the repair cream, I found it too thick and the scent was bit too much for me.
With the cleanser and mist alone, I think the set was worth it. I went on the LA’BONIC website and checked out the prices. The cleanser is originally $28, the rose mist is $34.80 and a big tub of the repair cream is $55. Both the foam cleanser and rose mist in the set were full sized so I definitely got a great deal!
I love face masks so I picked up a pack of the SNP Charcoal Mineral Mask. There are 10 sheets in the pack and it was $17. I’ve used this mask and I like it too. I have to make sure I follow the instructions though and don’t leave it on for too long.
I also got the Beauteous Bee Venom Mask because I as curious. I’ve never tried bee venom products before and this is meant to be for lifting and firming. Although I can’t see wrinkles on my face, prevention is better than cure so I thought I’d give it a go. This was also only $6.99 which is such a ridiculous price because on the website, this retails for $72NZ!
Another Beauteous product is this Placence ovine placenta cream. This was $8 which is such a cheap price too so I just put it in my basket. I’ve also never tried a cream like this and I had to search ovine placenta afterwards. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a bit scared of using this cream but it’s meant to be good for anti-ageing so maybe I’ll use it in the future. This retails for $60 originally too.
Lastly, I got a Tangle Teezer. This is another product I’ve wanted to try for ages but didn’t want to shell out the cash for it. This was on sale for $16 which is definitely a good deal as it retails for $20-39 here in NZ. I’ve been using this since I got it and to be honest, I’m not that impressed. This product had so much hype and it feels so scratchy on my scalp that I don’t enjoy using it. It’s good at detangling but it’s not as good as I expected it to be.
I think I’ll definitely keep my eye out for Hypermarket‘s sale again because this was such a good haul and I got some great bargains. I could’ve bought a lot more as they had Karen Murell lipsticks on sale on the day too but I passed because I have too many lipsticks that I barely wear.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products I’ve mentioned above as I want to know your thoughts/reviews on them.
