Kmart Metallics Brushes

If you’ve been following my blog or social media, you’ll know I love Kmart. Not only does it have good homewares but they’ve stepped in their beauty department too. A few months ago, I saw these metallic makeup brushes and I didn’t even hesitate snapping them up before they were sold out.

I got three makeup brushes from the metallics range but they also had hairbrushes, eyelash curlers and a foundation brush.

As you can see above, there are three metallic shades and I got them all. All brushes are available in silver, gold and rose gold. I got all three because I couldn’t complete the set in one shade as most brushes were sold out especially in the rose gold colour.

The brush I wanted to pick out the most was the Kabuki brush. I needed a spare powder brush so this was perfect. I use this to set my face with pressed powder and it does a pretty good job.

I picked up this Powder brush to use as a blush brush. I don’t think this is big enough for powder so I prefer the kabuki brush for that. This also worked well and it’s soft. This is my favourite brush to use out of all of them.

Lastly, I got the Eye Duo Set which has a flat eyeshadow brush and a slanted brush that I use for my eyebrows. Out of all three metallic shades, I prefer the rose gold because I’m still not over the rose gold hype.

For $13 each, I think it is a bit steep in price for Kmart considering the Real Techniques bold metal brushes are only a few dollars more and are most likely better quality. However, I don’t have any other complaints about these brushes.

They’re pretty and they do the job. I was also surprised at how soft the brushes are and they survived the wash without any shedding at all. Overall, I was fairly impressed and they’ve been a great addition to my makeup brush collection.

If any of you have tried these brushes, let me know if you feel the same or if you had a different experience.
