It has been way too long since I shared the products I’ve used up. I’ve also filled up a big basket so it’s time to share my empties again. Today’s post is only my makeup empties and there will be a haircare and body care empties to follow.
Just a warning, there are a few foundations in this post and a lot of mascaras but if you’re interested to know what I’ve tried, click below.
I’ll start off with foundations.
I can honestly say there isn’t much left inside this Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. I unscrewed the pump lid and have scraped the inside until I couldn’t get any more foundation. I love this as well as the Healthy Mix Serum. I want to repurchase it because it’s great every day foundation for work. It has good coverage but it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
These two Maybelline foundations have been included in my favourites posts. I really like them both BUT I’ve had issues with the pumps. As you can see, the Maybelline Super Stay 24 foundation pump/lid is gone because it broke and now I can’t get any product out. I know there is still foundation inside but sadly I can’t get to it because it’s not a screw cap. I love this foundation so much I’ve been tempted to pry the lid open. Don’t worry, I haven’t.
As for the Maybelline Better Skin Foundation, I’m sure there’s a little bit of foundation left inside too but the pump has stopped working as well. It’s frustrating because I can’t open both bottles and I make sure I use every drop of a product I love.
I used to prefer foundations with pumps but for these two Maybelline foundations, I’d rather that they didn’t because the packaging has failed me.
Another Maybelline product is this Instant Age Rewind concealer. I bought a backup of this already that I’ve been using. This is my absolute favourite concealer despite how grubby the sponge applicator looks.
The BYS concealer duo is really old so although I haven’t fully finished it, I had to throw it out. I got this years ago from Kmart and I never liked it.
For compacts, I’ve used up this Australis Fresh & Flawless powder which I love and used every day. I also have a backup of this because it’s my go-to powder.
The one on the right is the e.l.f. eyebrow kit. I can’t remember how many of these eyebrow kits I’ve finished but I’ve been using it for years. I only use the darker shade so I get rid of it even if there is still a lot of the lighter brown shade on the right. My sister gave me her e.l.f. brow kit that she didn’t use so I have a new one already.
Still on brows, I’ve used up this Billion Dollar Brows Universal brow pencil. I liked this and that’s why I continued using it but now that I have the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, I prefer that more so I won’t be repurchasing this.
I got the NYX Matte Finish setting spray back in Melbourne last year and I like it. I definitely like it more than the L.A. Girl Pro setting spray but I got the latter at a makeup sale for cheap.
Not all the lip products above are empty. The Vaseline Lip Therapy is completely empty because I go through those pots quickly but the rest still has product in them. I’ve had the others for way long that they needed to go.
I mentioned the Maybelline Baby Lips in my Disappointing Products post so I don’t like them and they don’t work at moisturising my lips at all.
As I said at the start of this post, I have a lot of mascaras. Most of these I’ve featured in other blog posts so I’ll link them. I love most of these and I wish I didn’t have to throw them away but they’re either dried up or I’ve had them for way too long.
The MaxFactor Masterpiece Transform was a mascara I won from a giveaway and I loved it. The most recent one I got and finished is the LOVE Volumising mascara from Kmart. It’s a great cheap mascara but the formula dries out so quickly.
Lastly, I’ve used quite a few beauty sponges. The black one is the famous Beauty Blender. It’s expensive but it’s the best. The orange is the Real Techniques sponge. It’s good and second best to my BB.
The pink and purple were random $5 sponges from either Kmart or a makeup sale and they were not good. They’re both hard and did not blend my makeup well. As I’ve tried a few, I’d rather spend a bit more $$ with the BB or RT sponges than a cheap one.
I know there are a lot of products featured in this empties post so if you managed to finish it, thank you for reading! Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products above.
