Homewares Haul

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a homeware haul here on the blog and for some time, I didn’t really buy too many homewares since I was focused on getting new lounge furniture instead. Now that I’m done with that, I’ve slowly moved on to my kitchen and upgrading a few things. This haul is mainly from Kmart and The Warehouse. If you’re after affordable home stuff, check out my post below.

I’ll start off with the stuff I got from The Warehouse. The bigger items were dinnerware.

I decided to change my dinner set on a random Warehouse trip. I’ve been wanting to change my dinner set for a while but I haven’t found one that I like at an affordable price point. The current set that I have is plain and I realised I actually didn’t like it. I bought it with the ex when we first moved in and to be honest, I didn’t really like using it and used my Karen Walker plates most meal times.

Anyway, this set is the Speckled plates and bowls. They’re $2 each so super affordable. It’s plain and simple but I really like it.

I also replaced my glassware into these gold rim tall glasses and wine glasses. The tall glasses were $10 for a set of four and the wine glasses were $12 for the set. I love these and that they’re matchy. I already have gold cutlery so all together, they look nice.

the warehouse knitted throw.jpg

You can never have too many throws/blankets so when I saw this kid’s knitted throw on sale for $6.97, it went straight into my basket. I always have throws on top of my duvet cover because of my cats as when it rains, their paws get muddy and I don’t want muddy paws on my bed. This is cute and I like the grey and coral combination.

Lastly, I got these two Homme candles that were on sale for $4.97 each. I have a cabinet which has my candle stash and last time I opened it, I only had 1 candle left so it was time to replenish and these were a great deal.

Moving on to Kmart which is my wasteland because I go there and end up buying stuff I don’t need but realise I want.

This is my latest haul from one random Kmart trip at night.

My favourite purchase is this carafe with a gold lettering saying ‘create your own magic’. I’ve always wanted a carafe since Kikki K has cute ones but I didn’t want to spend a lot. This was $8.

I also got a insulated water bottle which is also $8. I’m actually giving this one away as I already have a rose gold one in my desk at work.

I couldn’t resist picking up more candles and this 3 pack of ceramic candles was only $12. I got a set of 4 marble ones last year which I have on display. This would also be good as a gift.

kmart wax melts

Kmart also has wax melts and my favourite is the salted caramel one. It smells great and fills up the room.

2018 diary

I got a 2018 diary. I know it’s not homewares but it was part of my haul. It was only $5 so I won’t feel too bad if I don’t end up using it. I always get a diary every year but my main use for it is to jot down bills and also act as a budgeting notebook. I like how this one has tabs for each month.

kmart christmas baubles.jpg

Lastly, I got Christmas baubles! It’s crazy how this year has flown by so quickly and Christmas stuff are out in the shops already. These were $2 each and I think they will look cute on my tiny tree.

I didn’t go overly crazy on the home stuff but I have to say, The Warehouse has really stepped it up in their last launch. There were so many pieces that I really wanted for such affordable prices. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m an affordable shopper and don’t tend to splurge on items. It’s great that you have places like Kmart and The Warehouse so you can spruce up your home without breaking the bank.

Gurl, yaaaas! I LOVE ALL THIS! I’m a notebook junkie, so I will definitely be getting one soon, especially since I’m going back to study next year. Hopefully. (Eeeeep.) I had a look at all the Warehouse stuff when I was in there last and it looks so, so good! I will definitely be paying them a visit when (and if) I move back to Auckland! 🙂
