I have been collecting all the products I’ve used up so it’s about time I share this. I must admit, these photos were taken last year but I still know exactly what I think about each product to give you my reviews.
I’ll start off with the makeup bits.
Maybelline FITme! powder – I’ve had this for a while and it was okay. I didn’t love it but I kept it in my makeup bag at work for a back up.
Essence All About Matt powder – As you can tell, I’ve hit pan on this. It was good and because it’s Essence, it’s really affordable.
Bourjois healthy balance powder – This was my second one of this because I really like it. It’s a good powder for setting foundation and keeping my face matte.
W7 Skin Fresh Foundation – I really like W7 products and I’ve been impressed by their foundations. I got this for $5 and it’s pretty good for every day use. I already have a second bottle of this in a darker shade for this summer.
Real Techniques sponge – This is the closest sponge I like to the Beauty Blender. It’s more affordable and I like the slanted angle on the other end. I’ve gone through multiple RT sponges and I’ll keep repurchasing it.
Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara – I loved this mascara. This was given to me at their event and as part of this haul. It’s such a good mascara. I would consider repurchasing this again if it was more easily available in stores here in NZ.
blinc mascara – This mascara is the first ‘tubing’ mascara I’ve ever tried. It’s meant to coat the lashes like a tube so you don’t get panda eyes as it will come off in chunks. I absolutely hated this mascara. It’s so dry and didn’t do anything to my lashes.
Bourjois Volume Glamour ultra black edition mascara – This was quite a wet mascara formula and as the name suggests, it’s quite black. I liked it but I found the brush bristles are too sparse that the mascara coated my lashes too much.
Maybelline MasterFix setting spray – I already have another bottle of this that I use every day. It’s a good affordable setting spray and I like how it spritzes too.
L.A. Girl Pro setting spray – This was $5 from a makeup sale and I wanted to get it because it’s a good size to put in my makeup bag.
Moving on to skincare…
Etude House Wonder Pore Clearing Emulsion – I had the whole Wonder Pore set but I didn’t use them all up at the same time. This emulsion was nice. It was a milky texture that didn’t feel too heavy on the skin.
Garnier Miracle Wake Up Cream – I liked this moisturiser and I used it every morning. It smelt nice and was hydrating.
Cane + Austen Corrective Treatment Eye Cream – This was part of a prize I won from an Instagram giveaway. I’ve never heard or used any products from this brand before. I didn’t think this eye cream worked for me and I found the formula weird because it was grainy and a bit oily.
Sephora Clarifying Booster serum – I got this from my Sydney Trip and I wish we have Sephora in NZ so I can repurchase this again. This wasn’t oily and was hydrating. I really enjoyed using this.
Peach Blossom bath salts – this was from Kmart and there were nothing extraordinary but I like having bath salts or bath fizzers when I’m in the bath.
Palmer’s Rapid Moisture spray lotion – I thought I wasn’t going to like spray lotions but I loved this and it’s so good in summer. It’s so refreshing and definitely cooling.
Sephora sleeping mask and eye mash – I got these two when I went to Sydney and I wish I bought the full tub of the sleeping mask. I really liked it. It was super hydrating yet light on the skin. I also enjoyed the eye mask.
Nude by Nature candle – this tiny candle was part of an advent calendar. I had to light it up and it was a nice scent.
Now, I have accumulated a lot of haircare products…
OGX Kukui Oil Shampoo and Conditioner – I enjoyed using this set. It made my hair really soft and smooth. I’d definitely consider purchasing OGX shampoo and conditioner again especially when they’re on sale.
Holistic Hair Shampoo and Conditioner – I was kindly sent this by the brand and I mentioned I have a greasy scalp so they recommended the sensitive shampoo and conditioner. My hair absolutely loved this and it worked on making my scalp and hair less oily. The shampoo doesn’t lather too well compared to ordinary/cheaper shampoos but I found it great at cleaning the hair without stripping it too much. The conditioner was also great. They’re pricey for me which is why I haven’t bought them again but I actually miss using these.
Schwarzkopf Lightening Spray – I’ve made a blog post about this spray already so if you want to read my review, click here. I’ve never dyed my hair and have never used anything like this but I liked being able to lighten my hair without having to maintain it. I was warned about excessive use being damaging to my hair though but so far, I don’t think it has damaged mine. I haven’t had a haircut in almost a year and I don’t have split or dry ends.
Toni & Guy Sea Salt Spray – This was a mini version that I got in a goodie bag. I love this so much that I bought the full size bottle.
Argan Oil hair mask – This is probably my third pot of this hair mask. It is affordable and it makes my hair soft so I like using it.
Sunsilk Keratinology heat protector – I don’t really use hot hair styling tools much anymore but when I did, I’d use this. It smelled nice and I think it worked. I just didn’t like the spray nozzle because it broke so easily.
Pantene styling treatment – This was also a nice product and smelled good but had the same spray nozzle/handle problem that it also broke.
Batiste Dry Shampoo – This is every empties post of mine so I’m not going to talk about it. I simply love and cannot live without Batiste.
Last but not the least are these two tanning products. I didn’t like both of them and didn’t finish them before they had a green tinge so they both went in the bin as fast as possible.
This is probably the longest empties post I’ve ever done. Let me know if you still enjoy knowing products I’ve used up. I personally like seeing what people have used and their review but I know empties post are pretty common nowadays.
