Milani Cosmetics

The latest and most exciting beauty launch for me was Milani Cosmetics. I’ve wanted to try this brand for so long but it’s not easily available in NZ. You can now get this brand in Farmers which is amazing. I was kindly sent a few of their products and received them last Thursday. Today’s post is a haul, first impressions and swatches.

I got sent a great selection of products and the packaging is beautiful! Milani is an affordable brand but the packaging is pretty luxe. They’re plastic but they’re not too light that it feels so cheap.

Milani The Bare Necessities Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Palette.jpg

The Bare Necessities Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Palette ($22.99) – As per the very long name, this eyeshadow palette is great for everyday use. Not that I use eyeshadow on a daily basis but when I do put it on, I can see myself using this. The colours are neutral and something I’ll definitely use. I like that there’s a mix of shimmers and mattes.

Milani Stellar Highlight Palette.jpg

Stellar Lights Highlight Palette in Holographic Beams ($32.99) – I love highlighters and this is a pretty palette.

Milani Stellar Highlight Palette swatches.jpg

I know the swatches above aren’t the best, I swatched other products before this so you can see some of that. However, I couldn’t not show  a quick swatch of the highlighters. They’re soft, not too powdery/chalky and they seem to blend easily. The top shade is Unicorn Dreams, middle shade is Make Believe and bottom shade is Other Worldly. My favourite is Other Worldly as it goes well with my skin tone.

Milani Blush Blossomtime Rose.jpg

Rose Blush in Blossomtime Rose ($19.99) –  How beautiful is this blush?! It’s so pretty I didn’t even want to swatch it. The shade is the kind of mauve pink I like to wear so I’ve been liking this so far.

Milani Baked Bronzer DolceMilani Baked Bronzer in Dolce

Baked Bronzer in Dolce ($18.99) – Again, this is another beautiful-looking product and I can’t wait to properly use this. It’s a great compact too with a mirror (and brush that I won’t use) underneath. From my swatch, this is going to be nice to lightly apply all around the face to warm it up. It has a slight sheen so it’s not a bronzer to contour with. This would also be nice on the eyes.

I’ve been wearing this all week too and I like this bronzer to warm my face. It’s not matte but the shimmer is subtle.

Milani Big & Bigger Lashes Mascara.jpg

Big & Bigger Lashes Mascara ($19.99) – the brush of this mascara is HUGE that I was confused at the start. It felt too big to apply mascara on my lashes but after a while, I got the hang of it. It’s not the best mascara I’ve tried but it’s alright. I do get a bit of fallout underneath though.

Milani Matte Lip Creme.jpg

Amore Matte Lip Creme in Precious ($18.99) – I’m so glad I got the shade Precious because this is the pink shade that I love wearing on my lips right now. I’m more into the your-lips-but-better shades rather than a brighter lip at the moment so I’m excited to try this one out.

Hypnotic Lights Lip Topper in Luminous Light ($22.99) – I don’t have any lip toppers in my collection especially one that is basically glitter. I wasn’t expecting it to be so pigmented when I swatched it on my hand. If you’re after a glitter finish on top of your lipstick that’s not glossy, this product is for you. For me, it accentuated my dry lips but I haven’t tried it with a creamy lipstick though.

Milani Classic Colour Statement Lipstick Rebel Rouge.jpg

Classic Colour Statement Lipstick in Rebel Rouge Red ($15.99) – The formula of this lipstick is creamy and has a shiny finish. It glides on easily and it’s buildable after a few applications.

True Red Colour Statement Lip Liner ($11.99) – I haven’t tried this one yet because I have other red liners so I want to keep this for later.

When I took the lip swatches above, I’ve swatched 6 other lip products so my lips were a bit raw and dry which showed so much on the second swatch with the matte lip creme and lip topper. However, you can see the classic lipstick is more forgiving on the lines because it’s moisturising rather than drying.

The scent of the Milani lip products are also interesting as the lip creme and lip topper smells like sweet lollies.

Milani conceal + perfect foundation.jpg

Conceal + Perfect foundation ($24.99) – Now this foundation wasn’t part of the PR package I was kindly sent. The moment I sent my sister a screenshot that Milani is now available in Farmers, she did an order and she got me this foundation in the shade 03 Light Beige. This seems like a good match and I’ve only put it on once and first impression was good as it’s medium-full coverage but I can’t comment on how it wears throughout the day yet.

From the package I received, these four are my current top picks.

At the moment, Milani is only available online from Farmers but I hope they roll it out in stores soon so people are able to see it in person and swatch them as well.

Have you tried other Milani products? Let me know which one is your favourite.
