So Wet n Wild is one of my favourite brands. Since it launched in Farmers NZ, I’ve been a fan because it’s affordable, the products work well and they do great limited edition collections. I have posted their previous Midnight Mermaid, Flights of Fancy and Goth-o-Graphic collections.
The most recent collection to launch in NZ is the Rebel Rose Collection and I had a chance to try all the products.
This collection has 15 products and I was pleasantly surprised at the variety. There’s skincare, brushes and products for eyes, cheeks and lips. It’s an all-rounder.
I’ll start off with the more skincare items in the collection:
Photographed above: Photofocus Rose Toner, Photofocus Rose Primer Serum, Photofocus Multi-use Oil and Lip Scrub ($8.99)
I’ve only tried the Rose Primer Serum and I thought it’s an interesting product. It’s not heavily rose scented which I prefer. The consistency is quite liquidy but it is easily absorbed by the skin. The pink tone doesn’t really transfer either which is great because I don’t want a pink undertone.
Coloricon Eyeshadow Quads in Bed of Roses, Secret Garden Rendezvous and House of Thorns – $12.99 each.
This collection has three eyeshadow palettes and they’re mostly darker shades. There isn’t much light neutral in the matte shades.
I’ve only tried the eyeshadows in the Secret Garden Rendesvous palette and I quite liked it. The shadow lasted all day and blended easily. For the price of these shadows, I can’t complain. They are pigmented enough and are blendable.
Colouricon Creme Blush – $12.99
I was a bit skeptical to try this blush. It looks so dark, almost black with some glitter flecks. I had low expectations but this was actually really nice and lasted the entire day on my cheeks and that’s hard for blush. I swirled by finger on it and it’s a smooth, slightly oily formula and has a rosy pink shade. I applied it on my cheeks using my fingers and not a brush. It worked well and it gave a natural flushed look. I’ll definitely use this again. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this is.
Megalast Liquid Catsuit – $12.99
This range has the famous matte liquid lipsticks and also the high shine lipsticks which I have’t tried from Wet n Wild before.
The two liquid matte lipsticks were called Kiss of Death (dark red) and Deviant Damsel (dark purple).
The two high shine liquid lipsticks were Petal Poison (pink) and Bud Romance (purple). I used Petal Poison on my lips and I actually liked it. It wasn’t sticky and gave a nice sheen to the lips.
Perfect Pout Jelly Balm in Tint of Corruption – $8.99
This lip balm looks boring in the packaging as it doesn’t give away the shade and it reminds me of those kid lip balms but I tried this out and it was quite hydrating. I used this underneath the high shine lipstick for a more natural look. The shade is a natural pink shade which just accentuates your natural lip colour so this is quite nice for those no makeup days.
I love Wet n Wild brushes. They’re so affordable, super soft and lasts pretty well. There are two in this collection and they’re beautiful. I love the blush brush ($16.99). The eyeshadow brush is not as easy to use because of the rose petal/bud as base so I’d skip on that and get the pretty blush brush instead. I think these are more for display to be honest as I’d hands down recommend their Proline Brushes instead.
This collection is limited edition so unfortunately I haven’t seen them online at Farmers anymore but there are still some products available in stores. I’ve seen some palettes and lipsticks last time I went to the Farmers that has a Wet n Wild stand.
