The last stop of our little North Island road trip was Hawke’s Bay. We travelled all the way from Auckland down to Kuratau, to Martinborough then Cape Palliser and then slowly made our way up stopping at Castlepoint. Our last destination was Napier.

Last year was a big year of reading for me. I ended up reading 101 books and my goal was only 40! I wasn’t expecting to read a lot but we did have lockdowns and reading really became a habit for me. It took me some time to choose my top books but 2021’s list is pretty damn good.

2021 has been a rough year. I thought it would be a better year than 2020 but the pandemic is still ongoing and lockdown hit me a lot harder this year. I’m writing this on day 70-something of Auckland being in lockdown. It’s the longest one we’ve had and honestly, it has been quite a roller coaster ride. There have been many ups and downs during this time. I thought I’d write my thoughts, feelings, reflections of how this lockdown has been for me. I think it’s good to keep some sort of a record of what it was like during this weird time.

Back in February, we had a Christchurch trip. We were there for a wedding but I decided to make a mini holiday out of it as I haven’t really explored Christchurch at all. We had such an amazing time so I wanted to do a recap of it here. We stayed at 2 beautiful places and explored both the city and a seaside town.
