I had every intention of writing a blog post at the start of the year. I started it but it sat in my drafts because life got in the way. Probably like most people, I started the year quite hopeful and I was ready to have a great year. I even made a 2023 mood/vision board! I was so excited for this year as I had some fun things planned but instead, the first 2 and a half months of this year has thrown me quite a few curveballs. What a rollercoaster it has been already and it’s only March! So while I’m currently sick with Covid and had some time to rest and think, I finally finished this blog post, although it’s quite different to what I initially thought I’d post.

Where I opshop + Tips & Tricks
I’ve done quite a bit of opshopping / thrifting recently to update my winter wardrobe. I found some amazing pieces and when I shared them on Instagram, I got people asking me where I went. It gave me an idea that it’s about time I update the opshops I go to. I thought I’d also add my tips and tricks on opshopping as I’ve been doing this for years.
If you live in Auckland, check out my favourite opshops below.
Continue readingAuckland lockdown 2021 ramblings
I’m writing this on day 70-something of Auckland being in lockdown. It’s the longest one we’ve had and honestly, it has been quite a roller coaster ride. There have been many ups and downs during this time. I thought I’d write my thoughts, feelings, reflections of how this lockdown has been for me. I think it’s good to keep some sort of a record of what it was like during this weird time.
So last Sunday I checked out @Bangkok Restaurant. I haven’t been to this restaurant before as Kingsland is not my local area but I was given an opportunity to try their food. I am a big foodie and love Thai food so it was an offer I couldn’t resist. We tried a lot of dishes and overall had a great experience. If you’re after a new Thai place in Auckland to try, check out the post below.
Auckland Fried Chicken Festival
If you love fried chicken and live in Auckland, you would’ve probably heard about the Fried Chicken Festival that happened last weekend. This was my first time going so I wanted to document and share my experience. The tickets were limited so if you had FOMO and was wondering how it was, continue down below.
April Brunchclub at Devon On The Wharf
Last month, I organised the NZBloggers Brunchclub at one of my favourite brunch places Devon On The Wharf. I have already blogged about this place before but I wanted to recap my first ever brunchclub.
Ampersand Eatery
Last weekend was the monthly NZbloggers brunchclub and it was held at Ampersand Eatery. I thought I was going to miss out on this but I’m so glad I was able to make it. If you haven’t been here before or you’re after another brunch place in Auckland, check out my post below.
Devon On The Wharf
Devonport is probably my favourite suburb in the North Shore besides Takapuna, my home. It’s such a great place to go for a walk, stroll around the quaint town and have brunch. Right smack in Devonport Wharf is the aptly named Devon On The Wharf. We’ve been here a couple of times so I’ve tested this place out.
The Food Show 2018
I can’t believe it’s July already. After a pretty crappy month, I’m glad I’m ending it by attending The Food Show. This is my third year going and I get so excited about seeing new brands and tasting all the food. I went today and I wanted to share some of the photos I took inside and the great deals we found.
Dinner in the Dark with Sacred Hill Wines
So back in April, I was invited by Sacred Hill Wines at Dans Le Noir? to have dinner in the dark. I know it’s been a while but I couldn’t talk about it straight away until the menu changed in May. I really wanted to share my experience and in case you were wondering what it’s like to taste food without your vision. If you’re curious, continue down below.
