Taking Stock

Today’s post is a little bit different but I was inspired by a few NZ bloggers who have answered this Taking Stock list. My blog turned 6 months yesterday too and I have thought of doing this when I hit this mark. This is outside my usual posting schedule but I hope you enjoy this more personal post.

Making:  A proper blog schedule. I have been in a rut for a few weeks now and although it hasn’t affected my usual blog schedule, I haven’t really planned any posts beyond next week. I really want to start planning ahead and having at least a month in advance plan of my blog posts.

Reading: I used to read a lot but I haven’t read a proper book in a long time. It really sucks because I used to enjoy reading but I can’t seem to make time for it at the moment. I did buy this book recently though:

I’ve been enjoying reading the short stories and quotes from the book and getting some motivation.

Eating: I’m not eating at the moment but I did have a filling dinner at my partner’s parent’s house last night and I had a sneaky Whittaker’s Dark Ghana chocolate after. I love dark chocolate!

Enjoying: The sun being out! We had a lovely weekend and I had gelato and walked along the beach twice. It was awesome.

The next day I had Kapiti ice cream and ate it along the beach with my partner. That’s how great my weekend was!

Waiting: To hear back from someone.

Wondering: About the future.

Hoping: To get the results I want from that someone.

Wishing: For a fresh start.

I also wish I can stay in bed and sleep in during the week.

Trying: I’m trying to figure out what I really want to do. It is taking me a long time to figure things out but I’ll get there somehow.

Considering: Joining a gym. I haven’t worked out in months and I could tell that I have gained weight from all the indulging I’ve done this winter. I really need to get back into the fitness wagon. I have fallen way off.

Wearing: I’m on the way to work now and I’m wearing my brogues, tights, skater skirt, knit sweater and asos coat.

Needing: A holiday. I want to go away and forget about work or chores even just for a few days.

I am never not dreaming of going back to Queenstown.

Watching: I’m not following any TV series right now but I did watch Masterchef NZ and the finale was last night. I wasn’t happy with the finale but I can’t do anything about that. Last week, I also binge-watched Real Housewives of Melbourne. It’s such a guilty pleasure for me.

Thinking: I’ve been thinking of re-doing my room which is our spare room and a combination of a beauty room, office and closet. I’ve been searching for a new desk and good shelving.

This is the nice part of my room.

Disliking: That I feel like there is not enough hours during the day to get all the things I need to get done. From full time work, chores, blogging and socialising… I just don’t have enough time to do everything!

Buying: Probably more stuff from iHerb. I’m also tempted to check out this makeup sale in the weekend.

Loving: Knowing that I have a  good support system around me. Also loving the prospect of getting a cat soon! Yay!

I never get this personal on my blog but I hope you get a glimpse of what I’m feeling at the moment. It hasn’t been a particularly great month and I’ve had some struggles but I think I’m finally feeling better so I’m hoping this will continue.

Tomorrow I have a beauty post so come back if you’re more interested in seeing my usual posts. I hope you have a great day.

Thank you! I don’t know why but September hasn’t been that great for some people I know too. I didn’t realise a lot more people are feeling the same as me so it’s good to know I’m not alone. Yes, I really hope so. We will figure it out eventually. πŸ™‚

Great post! Thanks for giving us some insight into the real you. We all get overwhelmed sometimes but we have to keep pushing forward. I’m feeling extremely overwhelmed at the moment but I’m trying not to get sucked into a funk. We just have to take one step at a time and take each day as it comes. All the best! Xoxo

Thank you Gail! I’m glad you enjoyed this post even though it’s not my usual content. I hesitated doing it and only decided early this morning but I’m happy I did. I was feeling overwhelmed too but it does get better. I hope you overcome yours too. We will be alright in the end. All the best to you too. πŸ™‚

Thank you Lena! I felt like I was having a quarter life crisis but I’m slowly figuring things out and trying to take action. So hopefully things go well. We all have our struggles but we just have to push through and be positive too. πŸ™‚
