I’ve been meaning to post some home decor on the blog and I thought this week’s #BlogGreatness theme ‘Type’ was quite fitting.
The photo above shows a wall in our spare room which I have turned into my closet/beauty/office space. It basically a room full of my girly stuff and I have decorated this wall full of quotes and prints which was a bit of a DIY job. I call this my inspiration wall and it makes me happy looking at it every day.
See below for more photos.
This is how the wall looks and I love how it turned out. The first thing I put up were the quotes and then came the world map from The Warehouse and other prints on the left.
I love the different quotes and typologies used. I got them all from Pinterest. I wish I’ve pinned each quote but I did it in such a rush that I saved and printed them straight away so I don’t have the sources. I also did this in a budget since we just moved in and I didn’t want to spend too much money.
The frames are either from Kmart, The Warehouse and Kikki K. The frames were $3-4 each while I got the two Kikki K frames on sale for $12.
This is my favourite which is why it is the biggest and in the middle of all the others. I also like the background watercolour effect. The quotes are a great source of inspiration or a reminder to myself when I’m having a bad day.
There were a few that didn’t make it to the wall too but I realised that I quite like cursive/script writing. It looks fancier and better in my opinion.
If I will do my wall again, I’ll make sure to use free printables but for now I’ll keep it because only myself and my partner can really see it. They can be easily changed too.
If you don’t have time to source for printables and do them yourself, you can just buy prints. I’ve seen The Warehouse and Kmart have inexpensive ones. I’ve also been eyeing these Sarah Jane Kavali Prints on Onceit:
There are so many other cool prints in her collection and if you haven’t heard of Onceit, sign up because they have amazing sales every day from fashion, accessories, home decor etc. I check it every midday when the sales come out. I’m quite obsessed and I got a workmate hooked on it too!
P.S. This is not sponsored by Onceit either. I just love the website.
I hope you like my first home decor post on the blog. I’ve been enjoying decorating our house and I’d like to share some of that in here. Comment below if you have decorating tips for me and I’d love to read about them.

Nice wall! I have so much artwork up in my house but your post just made me realise I’m lacking in the typography art sector. I’ve got just 1 piece of art with typography on it and it was a painting I did years ago of a fat, smiling buddha and the words “BE GOOD” above him.

Thank you Genie! 🙂 You are so creative! I did painting in school but I can’t say I’m good at it. I would love to have a house full of artwork and even better if it’s your own. For now, some simple DIYs will do.

We also get our frames from the Warehouse and on sale also :-). I personally really like the “Be so good they can’t ignore you”. Thanks for sharing Angela!

Thanks Chloe! The Warehouse are good and cheap! I love Kmart too for homewares. I love that yoo and the Positive Mind, Positive Vibes, Positive Life. Those two are quite clear and my eyes are drawn to them straight away. 🙂
