Today’s outfit post is with collaboration with Boohoo who asked me to create a look inspired by a famous icon from film or television. The first thing that came to mind when I thought of a character was Blair Waldorf. I have the whole Gossip Girl box set and this year, I started rewatching the series. Blair has always been my favourite character and I love her outfits.
After trawling through the evening dresses section of Boohoo, I finally found this dress that I think fits Blair’s style perfectly and something I would also wear.
I chose the Elle All Over Lace Frill Dress in white. I think it fits Blair’s style due to its classic look, the bow detail, belt and lace material.
I chose the white dress over the black one because I think the details is more visible in this colour and it’s great for the upcoming summer season. This dress can be dressed up and down so it’s quite versatile.
The detail continues at the back and there is an exposed gold zip down the middle.
The lace is fully see-through over the décolletage area. It shows just enough skin and it’s not too revealing. What really drew me into this dress is the bow detail at the front which is so Blair Waldorf. I love how the lace drapes over the shoulders too .
I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit simple as the dress is quite detailed so I opted for these plain black pumps from Topshop.
I also only have two bracelets and they’re both from Karen Walker.
I think this dress would be perfect for a summer party or a fancy high tea. It’s also so on-trend because of the famous Self Portrait style dresses.
I donned a bright red lipstick from YSL as the whole outfit is very monochromatic. My sunglasses are Karen Walker and my earrings were from Lovisa.
My sister styled my hair again into plaits and I love it. I think an updo is perfect to also show the intricate lace details that continues on the back of the dress.
Overall, I’m really happy with this dress and let me know if you think Blair would approve this outfit. I’m missing her iconic headband or a bright coat but I think I nailed this Blair-inspired look anyway.
