I’m aware we’re in the second week of April already but I thought I’d share how last month was because it was jam-packed but it was amazing. It was quite an eventful month so I’ll be sharing my highlights and this is also a way for me to remember the great times.
At the start of the month, I went to the opening of the French Film Festival.
I watched L’oddyssée which was such a cinematic film. It was beautiful and I really enjoyed it. I finally wore my RUBY skirt for the first time too and I paired it with a Glassons top and Rubi heels.
Then a few days later, I attended my friend’s wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and I had a great time. I wore a floral dress from The Warehouse.
From glam to the complete opposite… the weekend after the wedding, I went with few friends to Tongariro National Park to hike the Tongariro Crossing.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and we were unable to do the crossing. We didn’t let that damper our weekend though so we still went for a 2-hour walk around Taranaki Falls and ended our day at the thermal pools. The weekend didn’t as planned but it was nice to be away from Auckland and do something different.
I’m glad I have a show buddy who is Lena from the blog Lena Talks Beauty.
We watched La Soirée during the Auckland Arts Festival. The show was hilarious and amazing. It wasn’t what I expected so it kinda blew me away. I’m really happy I was able to watch it.
During March, we also had family from overseas so it was nice spending time with them.
We basically were tourists for the day as we went up the Skytower, had yummy yum cha for lunch and checked out the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
As if the month couldn’t get any better, I saw Adele live!
Watching her live was such an amazing experience and probably once in a lifetime too if she doesn’t tour ever again. Her voice was the same, if not better in real life and she was so funny. This was definitely a night to remember.
The day after Adele, I went to the Auckland Art Gallery.
If you haven’t been there in a while, I recommend you check it out. Ann Shelton’s Dark Matter Exhibit (photo on the left) was my favourite. Judy Darragh’s Limbo hanging above the main atrium is also fascinating. You can watch a video of her vision and how they were made too.
I was also able to watch Matilda & Me which is the documentary about Tim Minchin and Matilda the Musical. I really enjoyed it and I cannot wait to watch the actual musical.
I also want to give special mention to Korina from Auckland Foodie who sent me the lovelies care package on the last day of March.
I’ve never been sent a care package before and this really warmed my heart. Thank you Korina, you made my week!
Lastly, some other memorable moments from last month include:
- Winning a prize pack from Publicity PR on Instagram.
- Having coffee and chips by the Takapuna Beach Cafe.
- Scoring amazing deals at the opshops.
- Discovering Good Union in Cambridge. If you’re ever there, please stop by for food and drinks!
- Spending quality sister time at home and brunching at Milford. Crossroads Cafe is pretty damn good by the way!
- It’s also the month where I had amazing photos of Turbo and Mouse thanks to my sister Joan.
So far, April has been quite interesting. my highlight so far is changing my lounge furniture though. I finally have a dining table, got rid of the awful coffee table and my house has no black furniture that I hate anymore. I’m still not done redecorating the house but I’m really happy with what I’ve done.
I hope you all have a great Easter weekend.
