So two weekends ago, I had a last minute trip to Hamilton. I wasn’t planning on going at all but I realised I didn’t want to miss out so I joined a few lovely blogging gals for a quick day trip. We went there for brunch which I already posted about so this post will have everything else we got up to during the day and the cool things I saw while we were there.
Two Birds Eatery
So every month, a bunch of NZ bloggers have brunch together for a monthly brunch club. I’ve been to so many of them and it’s a great way to meet other bloggers, make new friends and try new food places. It’s mainly in Auckland but April’s brunchclub location was at Two Birds Eatery in Hamilton.
Bottomless Brunch at The Lula Inn
Last month’s brunchclub was at The Lula Inn located in the waterfront, beside the Auckland Maritime Museum. I’ve never been to this restaurant before so I was quite excited to try their Bottomless Brunch with some awesome blogging gals. Food plus cocktails on a Sunday? YES PLEASE.
Umu Pizza
The food scene in Auckland is so exciting. There are so many new food places now and my list of places to go to keeps growing. The latest addition to the scene is UMU Pizza. If you love a good pizza, this is a place to check out. I’ve been twice and have tried 6 out of the 8 pizzas they have on offer so if you want to know my thoughts and more info about this place, continue down below.
The Sugar Club with L’OR Espresso
When the invitation to have breakfast at The Sugar Club landed in my inbox, I basically wanted to say yes straight away. I’ve been to The Sugar Club once and I know it’s such a great place to dine. I knew the event had something to do with coffee but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in last week that it’s for the launch of L’OR Espresso.
Krispy Kreme NZ
So last Friday, I was lucky enough to be invited to Krispy Kreme’s VIP launch event. I was part of the first group that was able to check out the first New Zealand store, try out their drinks, doughnuts and get a behind the scenes sneak peak. The store opens to the public this morning at 8am so if you want to know what to expect, continue down below.
Nanam Eatery
I feel quite lucky that I’m spoilt for choice for places to eat in my neighbourhood. The latest exciting place that opened in Takapuna is Nanam Eatery. Nanam is not your traditional Filipino restaurant and that’s what intrigued me and my family so we decided to finally check it out.
2017: A Review
I have been a terrible blogger as the last time I posted here was back in October. The later part of the year is always so hectic and I also lost my blogging mojo. I’m hoping to get it back this year so to start afresh (even though this post is also a bit late), I want to look back on 2017 which has been a year of change.
2017 was by far, the hardest year as it truly tested my strength but it also turned out to be the best. It made me a stronger and better person. I took every opportunity that was presented to me and it was the year that I really felt like I was being myself. In a way, my break up was like me being set free from the anchor that weighed me down. I was finally able to live my life how I should’ve.
September Highlights
I wanted to write about my September Highlights/Recap because it was such a busy but great month. A lot of different things happened such as blog events, catch up with friends and eating lots of food.
My Mental Health Journey
This week, from 9th – 15th of October is Mental Health Awareness Week and today is the World Mental Health Day. I’ve had this post sitting in my drafts and I never thought I’d publish it because I don’t share overly personal things here. However, I don’t think I’ll have a more fitting day to post this and it’s about time we stop feeling embarrassed or scared talking about mental health.
I’ve had a tumultuous year to say the least and one of the biggest things I’ve realised is the importance of making sure I keep my mental health in check. Today, I’ll share how I’ve dealt with my mental health and how I boost my wellbeing.
