If there’s a makeup sale happening close to me, I cannot resist going to it. Even if I don’t need any more makeup, I always like to check it out to see if there are any new products. There are two makeup sales around NZ that I know of but the one I go to the most and where this haul is from is the Big Bucket Deals.
They come to Auckland every few months and there’s usually one in the North Shore. I can’t help myself when they had their last sale and I managed to get a few things I’ve been eyeing up for quite a while.
See my full haul below.
I think the sale was a week or two before my Melbourne trip so I really didn’t want to buy a lot but I saw these items and I had to get them there and then.
The first one I picked up is this Maybelline Fit Me! Matte +Poreless foundation. I’ve tried the original Fit Me foundation years ago and I liked it but it wasn’t that great for my oily skin. I wanted to know how well it works. I’ve been using it a lot and I like it. It is a matte finish and has good coverage but it doesn’t last as long as my favourite Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. I have to set this with a powder to last longer or else it breaks down in places towards the end of the day.
I got it for $14 so for the price, I can’t really complain. I really like it but it’s not for a full day of makeup.
I didn’t really need these but they were so cheap that I couldn’t resist. They were $7 each. I got the L.A. Girl PRO setting spray and PRO BB Cream. I still want to get my hands on the PRO conceal too but they didn’t have any.
I haven’t tried the setting spray yet and I’ve only used the BB cream once so I don’t have a proper opinion on these. I’ll report back once I’ve used them more.
I am a bit obsessed with eyebrow products. I have seen these two in social media, blogs and Youtube a lot and I really wanted to try them. Luckily they had some in stock the day I went. My sister went on a different day of the sale and they didn’t have them.
I got the L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper and Maybelline Brow Drama. I’m not going to talk about these two in here because I have a separate post planned for all of my eyebrow products. The Brow Stylist Plumper was $17 which was the most expensive item in this haul and the Brow Drama was $9.
Lastly, I got this OPI Avojuice Skin Quenchers. They’re basically a set of 6 OPI hand and body creams. I cannot live without hand cream so I thought these will be great to have in my handbag and all of them smell really nice too. I’ve only properly used the apple pie spice one and it smells great.
From the first haul photo above, I also got a backup of the Vaseline Lip Therapy which is my favourite thing to use on my lips. I use it a lot and I have a pot at home and at work so a backup is necessary.
The Big Bucket deals don’t just have makeup either. They have perfumes, haircare, body care and sometimes bags and clothing too. I actually got packs of AA and AAA batteries from this sale but I know you don’t really want to see those.
Have you been to one of these makeup sales before? If you haven’t heard of them, try find Big Bucket Deals on Facebook to know where the sale is next.
