NZFW 2017

A Week in Fashion | NZFW 2017

The busiest week in fashion is done and dusted and after an exciting (but exhausting) week of going to shows, I thought I’d round up my third NZ Fashion Week here on the blog. I went to 13 shows in total which is a feat for me since I attended shows in between work. This year’s fashion week has been the best so far and I have so many highlights.

karen walker haul captains belt

Karen Walker

I think I have mentioned it a few times on my blog that I love Karen Walker and that she is my favourite NZ designer. I’ve followed the collections over the years and I absolutely love the accessories and jewellery.

The new collection called Time Machine came out recently and this Captain’s belt is part of it. I already have this belt in two other colours but this one is quite special because I bought it the same day I met Karen Walker herself.

I’ve talked about meeting her and showing more details about my new Karen Walker purchase below.

Chaos & Harmony Boots

It’s already spring in New Zealand so before it gets too hot, I thought I’d share my last shoe purchase.

For some reason, I’ve always wanted a red pair of boots but a good one is hard to find. I’ve found some tacky looking pairs or ones that aren’t my style. It changed when I saw this Chaos & Harmony pair.

Chaos & Harmony is a NZ shoe brand. I’ve known the brand for a while now but this is my first ever pair from them. I saw an event on Facebook about a sample sale and I couldn’t resist. My sister and I went and I came home with these lovely boots.

They’re beautiful so click below for more photos.

Designer Pop-up Sale Haul

I ended my NZ Fashion Weekend experience by going to NZ Fashion Weekend. NZ Fashion Weekend is open to the general public and getting tickets will give you access to the Designer Pop-up Sale. This was also previously called the Designer Garage Sale.

I was really excited to check it out this year and see what the fuss is about. I’ve heard great things about the sale and people getting amazing bargains.

I can tell you that it didn’t disappoint. I managed to have self control and only got two things from the sale.

Click below to see my haul and more photos of the actual sale.

NZFW: CLEO Presents RUBY & HOLY CHIC

This is my last runway post from NZ Fashion Week. It has been a few weeks already but I still wanted to share this. NYFW is on right now and I could only dream to watch a runway show there.

Anyway, this post is all about the CLEO Presents RUBY/HOLY CHIC/COOP show during the NZ Fashion Weekend. This is a great combination of three wonderful designers. This is the show that was most wearable to me and closest to my style. I loved the clothes I saw and want them all.

NZFW: Resene Designer Selection Show

It has been exactly 2 weeks since I went to NZ Fashion Week and my experience is still fresh in my mind. I have two runway show posts left so if you’re still interested, continue reading.

Today is all about the Resene Designer Selection Show. NZFW is quite exclusive to the fashion industry and delegates only. However, the DSS is open to the public and you can purchase tickets to the show. It was on from Wednesday to Saturday at different times.

It’s a great show to get an overview of the current designer collections. There’s something for everyone and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I watched the show from the front row so I managed to take a lot of photos.

nzfw miromoda runway show fashion week

NZFW: Miromoda

The second show I went to was Miromoda. I could tell it was a much anticipated show compared to the first show of the day, Frances Jerard by the amount of well-known people in front row and people who wanted to get seats.

We managed to get in but there was a wait to get seated so I decided to be in the media pit along with the photographers. I was towards the right and my view was partially blocked by a pram but I made it work.

I still managed to get some runway shots. See below for more photos.

My first NZFW experience

Today marks 5 months since I launched my blog. Time has has gone by so quickly and I have enjoyed the last few months. If I didn’t start A Style Collector, I wouldn’t have met awesome bloggers and probably wouldn’t have the opportunity to go to NZ Fashion Week this year.

If you didn’t know, I’m doing the NZFW Backstage Blog with a bunch of other bloggers thanks to We Are Anthology. Yesterday was my first day going to it although NZFW officially kicked off on Monday night.

I’ve taken a lot of photos and I have so much to edit but I have a few snaps of the venue for you today. It’s a sneak of some of the things you can see during NZ fashion week.
