It has been a while since my last lipstick swatch so I’m back for another one. This time around, I’m swatching these Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks.
I used to have more than these but I gave some away because some shades didn’t suit me or I just didn’t use them. I’ve currently have 8 lipsticks in my collection.
I really like these lipsticks and a few are my absolute favourites.
See below for my lip swatches and review.
I have a few different lipstick finishes in my collection. I have two matte lipsticks (one is in the silver packaging) and the rest are pearl and creme finishes.
I don’t mind the packaging of these lipsticks. Their simple. The labels at the bottom show the name, finish, number and reflect the shades. The top of the lipstick is a clear plastic so you can actually see through it. It’s easier to see the shades especially if it’s on my lipstick holder.
Here is the list of all the shades:
- Mauve It Over (matte finish) – nude
- Temptress (creme finish) – light pink
- Wild Orchid (pearl finish) – pink/purple (I am obsessed with this lipstick and the pearl finish)
- Cha Cha Cherry (creme finish) – peachy orange
- Raspberry Bite (creme finish) – dark pink/red
- In The Red (matte finish) – a blue-based red
- Sultry Sable (creme finish) – dark brown red
- Va Va Violet (creme finish) – dark purple
Here are the lip swatches:
My top three most worn lipsticks out of the bunch are Wild Orchid, Raspberry Bite and Cha Cha Cherry.
I found out about Wild Orchid thanks to my sister. We immediately became obsessed with it. I think Wild Orchid will always be one of my favourites because I think it’s quite unique. I love the pearl finish. It’s not frosty or too shimmery but it’s gorgeous when you have it on. The finish doesn’t translate too well in photos but it is such a lovely lipstick. I love it and I’ve been meaning to buy more pearl finishes.
I’m not a big fan of the mattes. Mauve It Over doesn’t stick too well on my lips and I think it is a shade too light for my skin tone. The majority of mine are the creme finishes and they are great. Application is a bit harder on the darker shades though and I recommend using a lip liner first. The lasting power of these are also pretty good. Wild Orchid and Raspberry Bite lasts well on my lips and they leave a good stain.
Overall, I really like these Revlon lipsticks. I think they’re good value especially if you buy them on sale. They have such a good colour selection too.
Have you tried any of the Super Lustrous Lipsticks? Which one is your favourite?
P.S. My blog is exactly three months old today. How time flies! It feels like I’ve had this for ages. I’ve been enjoying it so much.
