Desserts at Milse

Milse in Britomart has to be one of my favourite places in the city. It is my happy place because I have a major sweet tooth and love desserts.

I have been here too many times to count and I’m not embarrassed to say I have tried so many things they offer. What’s great about Milse is that they switch the ingredients around.

Last Saturday, my sister and I took my mum here as she’s never been. We were lucky to get a table.

See below for all the treats. If you’ve never been to Milse, I highly recommend it!

milse auckland desserts food sundae chocolateWe were full from our lunch at Mexico but we shared all three.

milse auckland desserts food sundae chocolateWe decided to get the sundae because they only have it on weekends. This was vanilla with lady fingers, salted caramel sauce, cocoa pearls and some form of tuille. It was so nice. I usually don’t like vanilla ice cream but this was an exception.

milse auckland desserts food gateau chocolateWe also got a verrine and gateau. If you haven’t tried Milse, the verrine is the one in the small jar.

The verrine is 62% Satilia Chocolate, Pecan, Brownie and Cardamom. The gateau at the back is the 65% Kalingo, crunchy pearls and white chocolate.

We love dark chocolate and these two were just that. The best was definitely the verrine. I could have eaten two jars of them.

milse auckland verrine chocolate dessertsOr take a verrine or two. After watching Disney on Ice, my mum, sister and I went back to buy verrines for takeaway so that our dad, my parent’s homestay and my partner can also have some later.

Honestly though, Milse has not disappointed me. Every time I come here, I just enjoy the desserts and the service is great too.

What I forgot to take a photo of on my slr is their gelato sticks. You have to try their gelato sticks because they are amazing.

If you happen to go there at night and manage to get a table, please try their a la carte dessert menu.

This was the Kalingo 65% (salted caramel and hazelnut) which is my go-to.

This was the Jivara 40% which has passionfruit, pecan and cocoa nib

Just look at the presentation though! They are sometimes too beautiful to eat but you have to because they are amazing.

I could seriously post more photos from my phone from previous trips but I’m going to stop here. If you’re not salivating yet, I don’t know why. It was so hard writing this post without craving any of their desserts.

I have more photos on my Zomato review and you can check out my profile here. If you haven’t guessed, of course I scored Milse 5/5. It has set the bar quite high for desserts and everything is so worth it. The excellent service adds to it too. I’ve been there with a bigger group, just my sister and I and even by myself. When I went there by myself on a non-busy afternoon, I was given a few magazines to read. It was bliss.

If you’ve been to Milse, let me know down below what was your favourite dessert? If not, tell me what you want to try! I hope you all have a great Friday and weekend ahead!
