Talk Beauty NZ Haul Part 1

This much awaited haul is here! I posted a sneak peek of it on my Instagram and FB page and people were quite interested. A few weeks ago, I went to a beauty event called Talk Beauty NZ and I had a lovely afternoon learning about new skincare, makeup and haircare products, meeting fellow beauty lovers and best of all, we got to take home an amazing haul of products.

I’ve split the haul into two parts because there are way too many products to show you. Today is part 1 and exactly a week from now will be the Part 2.

First of all, I did not expect the brands or the amount of products in our goodie bags. I went to the event not expecting anything and I was just blown away. Majority of the products in the goodie bags are new to me so this made me even more excited.

Who wouldn’t be excited getting a haul like this though?! We got given three separate goodie bags. One was specifically from Mary Kay, one from Enbacci and then a huge paper bag with the Talk Beauty NZ logo which had the best goodies.

There are so many products to talk about but I’ll start with the ones that we were introduced to at the Talk Beauty NZ event first and get them out of the way.

I have these two haircare products. One the left is the Kevin Murphy DOO.OVER which is a dry powder and finishing spray. I love the packaging of this. This smells great and I really like how it’s not powdery at all.

The product on the left is the Eleven Australia Miracle Hair Treatment. It claims to do a lot of things such as add shine, smoothness and softness, control frizz and flyaways, strengthen hair, prevent split ends, detangle, protect from heat, repair dry , damaged or coloured hair and prevents chlorine and sun damage. That is a lot and I can’t say that it does all of that at this point since I’ve only used it a few times but I’m loving it so far. This also smells amazing. I put it on damp hair and it has made my hair soft and less frizzy. So far, so good.

Next up is Enbacci Skincare, an Australian brand.

We received a few sample-size tubes of their products. We were given everything from their skincare range except for their Brightening Hand and Nail cream in our goodie bags.

These products were the ones we got to try during the event. I have the Detoxifying Clay Mask, Moisturising Hand & Nail Cream, Pore Minimiser with Tea Tree Oil and the Microdermabrasion Exfoliating Scrub. I haven’t opened any of these yet but I know the hand cream would come in handy for me as it’s a great size to put in my bag. I’m excited to try the rest though.

These three are from their Vitis Vinifera range and the box has the Rejuvenating Gel Cleanser, Rejuvenating Essence and the Rejuvenating Essential Creme. These would be perfect for travelling. I haven’t tried them yet but I’m quite curious because the full-sized skincare range is on the higher end price for me.

cailyn cosmetics o! wow brush makeup

What I was excited to try the most is this Cailyn Cosmetics O! Wow Brush. I’ve seen this around the internet a few months ago and I actually ordered a dupe of it from aliexpress. Of course I wanted to try the real deal and I’m so glad it was included in our goodie bags. I’ve been using this brush and I love it. I can do a more in depth review and a comparison to the dupe too so let me know if this is something you’d be interested to know.

blinc mascara talkbeautynz haul

Next up is this Blinc mascara that is supposed to tube your lashes. It apparently is waterproof and it prevents you from having panda eyes because it gets removed by water and some pressure. I’m excited to try this. I currently have three mascaras open so instead of wasting a product, I’m just going to wait until I don’t have as much then I can do a proper review.

gembox talkbeautynz sunglasses jewellery

We all got to take home a Gem Box too. There were a few styles available and I managed to pick up the Vintage Glam box which had a pair of pink/rose gold sunglasses, three hair tires and a necklace. I love the sunglasses but I don’t think they suit me so I’ll probably give it to my sister who suits any shape/style sunglasses.

dermalogica hydrablur primer talkbeautynz

I got a sample of the Dermalogica Hydrablur Primer. I’ve been trying it out and I quite like it. It doesn’t feel silicone-y compared to the Benefit Porefessional, Maybelline Baby Skin and Maybelline Master Prime which I all own. It’s more on blurring lines and smoothing pores for a more flawless skin rather than prolonging makeup.

On a separate goodie bag, we had Mary Kay products.

I’ve never tried any Mary Kay makeup before but I’ve heard of the brand for quite some time now. We got a bag, three lipsticks and two eye shadow palettes.

marykay eye color palette makeup

These eyeshadow palettes look amazing. I have the Metro Modern and City Sophisticate eye color palettes. I really like the one on the left because the colours are something I would use but I like the bronze shade on the palette on the right.

The three Mary Kay lipsticks are Berry Stylish, Oh So Currant and Naturally Chic. Berry Stylish is at the bottom which is a pinky-purple shade, Naturally Chic in the middle is a darker pinky nude and Oh So Currant at the top is a more brown-red colour. They look darker in the tube but they’re not as intense when swatched.

These are singular products from each brand so I grouped them together. Above are the Invisibobble traceless hair ties, Breath of Fresh Air Toner Water from Lush, Essie nail polish in bump up the pumps and Carmex lip balm.

The last one I’ll share with you is this sample set from NEEK.

neek skin organics australia talkbeautynz

I haven’t heard of this brand NEEK before but it is an Australian brand that has 100% natural and basically free from all the bad stuff. We got given a sample of their lipsticks. I got five shades:  Come into my world, sweet about me, sunsets, whole lotta Rosie and Friday on my mind. I actually like all the shades but since this requires a lip brush to apply, I haven’t really opened it yet. The samples would be enough for a swatch though so that’s something I can show in a separate post.

That’s all I’d show in today’s haul. Come back next week for Part 2 of my Talk Beauty NZ goodie bag contents. There are way too many products to talk about that I couldn’t fit them into one.

If you’re wondering what’s left, there are products from Collection Cosmetics, Australis, Skinfood, Mellow Cosmetics and Maybelline to  name a few.

Let me know if you’ve tried any products I’ve mentioned above or if you’re interested in seeing a more in-depth review/swatch.
