Miann

Dessert has to be my favourite type of food. I’m always up for something sweet and I swear I have a different stomach for dessert as no matter how full I am, I could still have room for it.

This is why I got really excited when Miann opened up in Auckland. If you didn’t know, Miann is a new dessert place in the city which is by the known pastry chef Brian Campbell (ex-head chef of Milse). He finally opened up his own restaurant and I was dying to try it out.

I’ve now been a couple of times so I can give you a bit of a review and show you the beautiful desserts Miann has to offer.

November Highlights

Another month has passed and we’re getting so close to the end of the year! For November, I decided to change it up and call my monthly round-up as ‘Highlights’ instead of the previous ‘Instagram Snaps‘. Not every highlight of my month is shared on my Instagram so this way, I feel like I can share more. It’s still a similar post and style but it gives me flexibility.

Anyway, if you want to know what I did, loved, and experienced the past month, click below.

Home decorating on a budget

Yesterday marked our 1 year anniversary living in our little home so I thought I’d share my ideas/tips on how to decorate your house on a ‘budget’.

Technically, I didn’t really have a budget but I’m quite thrifty so most of our home decor are fairly inexpensive. It was our first time moving out of home and I didn’t want to splurge on decor because I was still experimenting on what works.

This post will focus on our lounge/living area and if it goes well, I plan on making another post for other rooms.

If you’d like to see how I turned our house into a home, click below.

Travel: Melbourne Part 2

Today’s post is a continuation of my Melbourne travel series. I have posted Part 1 already which is more of an overview and what I saw on the first day exploring this beautiful city. This post is about our second day there when I went to the Melbourne Museum, Eureka Sydeck and took the tram.

Because I explored the city the day before, I had a grasp of where I am and I got familiar with the main streets. On my second day, I wandered further than the main strips and just started walking aimlessly after lunch.

If I didn’t keep walking, I wouldn’t have stumbled upon the beautiful Royal Exhibition Building (pictured above) within Carlton Gardens.

October Instagram Snaps

I can’t believe October is over! It has been a pretty chill month for me with nothing too exciting happening.

The photos above were taken last month. You know I love gelato and my favourite is The Store in Takapuna. My hair is also slightly lighter now due to the lightening spray I got from the Beauty Box and the last photo on the right was taken a few days ago when we went out for a walk and I wore my new Active Intent pants from The Warehouse which are so comfy.

If you want to know more things that happened, I have the month’s overview below.

Auckland Domain

A few weeks ago I met up with a friend at Auckland Domain and we explored the area. I haven’t been back here in a long time but I love this place.

Auckland Domain is Auckland’s oldest park at 75 hectares. It is a huge place and was formed around a cone of an extinct volcano. What I love about this place is there are lots to do and see. There is the Auckland War Memorial Museum, Wintergardens, walkways and just a great green open space area near the city. Parking is free for up to 3 hours too and that’s hard to find in Auckland now.

This day, we explored the domain and specifically wanted to see the Cherry Blossom trees. We actually got lost the first time but we found it eventually as you’d see in the photo above.

To see more of what we got up to, click below.

Travel: Melbourne Part 1

It has been nearly 2 months since I went to Melbourne for the first time. I don’t know why it has taken me this long to post it here on the blog. Thankfully my Melbourne memories is still fresh in my mind and I can still share my experience with you all.

I took so many photos from my trip so I’m going to split it into a few parts. This first part is my overview of Melbourne and what I got up to first. I did do a lot of shopping and eating too but I’ll save that for another post.
