The Food Show 2016

Last Saturday I went to The Food Show for the very first time. Even though I’m such a foodie, I’ve never been and I can’t believe I’m been missing out the past few years! Today’s post will feature my haul and some photos I took from The Food Show. It was a pretty hectic day but I managed to get some snaps of the stalls that caught my attention.

I went a bit overboard with the food shopping too but I got some pretty good deals! There were hundreds of stalls so it was so hard to leave the place empty-handed!

Tok Tok Kitchen

Last Sunday, I had lunch with my family at Tok Tok, a restaurant I’ve been wanting to try since it opened in Takapuna some time last year. It was my dad’s birthday so I took it as a great opportunity to book this place.

It’s an Asian fusion restaurant which is quite the rage at the moment and this place did not disappoint. If you want to know more about this place and the food we ordered, continue down below. Just beware, I have a lot of delicious-looking food ahead.

The Cat Lounge

Two weekends ago, I went to The Cat Lounge with a bunch of lovely NZ Bloggers for Brunchclub. When I found out that April’s event was at a cat cafe, I couldn’t miss out on a ticket. Since getting my kitty Turbo, I have become a crazy cat lady so going to this place is definitely up my alley.

If you’re wondering what it is like, click below because I’m sharing my whole experience and a lot of cute cat photos.

April Highlights

I feel like I say this every month but how fast is this year going by though?! It’s already May and April whizzed by so quickly. Next thing you know, it will be the end of the year which is crazy.

April was quite a hectic month for me. There were some stressful parts but I also did some exciting things. See monthly recap below.

Auckland Seafood Festival

Today is Auckland Anniversary day so I thought I’d make a relevant post. I know I already talked about the Auckland Seafood Festival on my last post. However, that was just a tidbit and today, I’m sharing my experience of the actual festival as I went on Saturday night and I was able to try the food on offer.

I also wanted to post this because you still have a chance to go to the Auckland Seafood Festival because it’s on today from 11am – 4pm. If you fancy some great seafood, head over to the city and also enjoy Auckland’s day.

ASF Launch + OOTD

Yesterday afternoon, I attended the launch for the Auckland Seafood Festival thanks to the awesome people at Zomato. The launch was before the festival opened to the public and it gave us a great insight of what the festival is all about, what it is trying to achieve and what will be on offer during the festival.

I love seafood so I had great pleasure trying some of the best seafood on offer. If you’ve bought tickets and want to know what to expect in the next few days, read more below. If you haven’t bought tickets but you’re considering going, then this may persuade you.

High Tea at Waipuna Hotel

Last week, I was kindly invited by Zomato to an ‘Ever so girly and glamorous High Tea’ at Waipuna Hotel. This was an invitation I simply couldn’t resist so that Saturday morning, I got ready, drove to the hotel and went inside Wellington’s Restaurant and Bar where I greeted by the lovely view of Panmure Basin and Mount Wellington.

I had a feeling it was going to be a great day and I was right. To know my first high tea experience at Waipuna Hotel, click below. It was an afternoon full of good food and meeting new people too.

miann auckland desserts gateaux

Miann

Dessert has to be my favourite type of food. I’m always up for something sweet and I swear I have a different stomach for dessert as no matter how full I am, I could still have room for it.

This is why I got really excited when Miann opened up in Auckland. If you didn’t know, Miann is a new dessert place in the city which is by the known pastry chef Brian Campbell (ex-head chef of Milse). He finally opened up his own restaurant and I was dying to try it out.

I’ve now been a couple of times so I can give you a bit of a review and show you the beautiful desserts Miann has to offer.
